A Global Learning and Awarding Program for Student Innovation Projects
NIM is open to all students currently in grades 8 to 12 worldwide. Participation in NIM requires registration organized by the school, and students must go through the school's internal selection process to qualify for the global evaluation by NIM. In each track, each school can submit only two student projects for consideration in the global selection conducted by NIM.
1
Grade Eligibility

2
Team Composition
Participation in NIM projects is team-based, with each team consisting of 5 to 10 members.
3

Next Idea Spark Program
The Next Idea Spark Program (NISP) is a support initiative launched by NIM specifically for schools that have not yet implemented PBL. For schools participating in NISP, NIM offers various support, including teacher training and dedicated Q&A, tailored to a specific track. NIM guides school teachers hands-on in organizing and guiding PBL projects at the school, helping them grasp the methods for conducting such activities. The aim of NISP is to sow the seeds of PBL and hopes they flourish within schools, benefiting more youth.
FAQ
Q1: Can completed projects be nominated for the NIM global evaluation?
Completed projects are not eligible for NIM evaluation. To participate in the NIM evaluation, projects must be conducted according to the requirements of different NIM tracks within the specified annual period and recorded and submitted through the NIM system.
Q2: Is there a fee for participating in the NIM global evaluation?
Yes, the registration fee is 390 USD/person (early bird) and 410 USD/person (normal). At the same time, NIM offers fee reductions at different levels to support student's PBL endeavors. Please refer to our fee reduction policy to see the reduction level applicable for you.
Q3: Can a school simultaneously participate in the evaluation of multiple tracks?
Schools can sign up for multiple tracks simultaneously. For students, as long as their capacity allows, they can also register and conduct projects in different tracks separately.
Q4: Is participation in the Early Review mandatory for all projects?
No, it’s not mandatory. Teams should decide whether to participate based on their own progress. You only need to participate in the Early Review if you wish to receive your final results earlier.
Q5: Are the certificates from the Early Review the same as those from the Final Review?
Yes, they are. The only difference between the Early Review and the Final Review is the timing. Since the evaluation process, criteria, and standards are identical, the certificates awarded are also the same.
Q6: If we participate in the Early Review, do we still need to participate in the Final Review in September?
No, you don’t. The Early Review is simply an earlier evaluation, with the same process, criteria, and standards as the Final Review. Therefore, teams only need to participate in one of the reviews. If you opt for the Early Review, you will not need to, nor can you, participate in the Final Review.
